Lab-grown diamonds
Real diamonds, grown in a lab
A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond. Same chemical composition, same hardness, same brilliance as a mined diamond; only origin and price differ.
Common questions
Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?+
Yes. Chemically and optically they are identical to mined diamonds. Even a jeweller can't tell them apart without special equipment.
How do they differ from natural ones?+
Only in origin and price. A natural stone forms in the earth over billions of years, a lab-grown one in a few weeks under the same conditions. So for the same money you get a larger, cleaner stone.
How are your diamonds made?+
By the HPHT process (high pressure, high temperature). Ours are Type II and carry no post-growth treatments (as grown). Cheaper lab-grown stones are often treated afterwards; ours are not.
Are they durable?+
Hardness 10 on the Mohs scale, the same as a natural diamond. It won't wear, discolour or fade. The ring will look the same decades from now.
What certificate do I get?+
Every center stone comes with an independent IGI certificate and report number, laser-inscribed on the girdle of the stone.
